This year we held our inaugural Christmas decorations competition with some of our Inside Out Lead Tenants/Live In Mentors and young people living in homes we manage. Four houses participated and we were very impressed with the effort and enthusiasm that they put into decorating their houses.
Houses were judged by our General Manager of Service Delivery, Andrea Greenwood and General Manager of Business Operations, Georgette Warden, based on visual impact, creativity, craftsmanship, house participation and embracing the Christmas theme.
The winner was our Keysborough house – with a 97.5% rating. From the entrance, they had a cat in a Christmas outfit, jingles playing, a train racing under a Christmas tree with personalised Graffiti named carriages, an installed chimney with treats for Santa and his reindeers, Lead Tenant gnomes, snowmen kitchen fridge magnets, baubles and bonbons! Most of the decorations were recycled goods sourced from hard rubbish items and op shop bargains – this house had it all!
Prizes will be distributed this week, which include restaurant vouchers for all the housemates and tickets for a night out at the cinema. Well done to everyone for getting into the Christmas spirit!
